How to Trueshot: A Beginner's Guide

Trueshot is the app that proves your photos are 100% authentic using blockchain technology. In a world filled with AI-generated images and deepfakes, Trueshot ensures that your important moments are verifiably real and have not been manipulated.

Each Trueshot is minted as an NFT, providing permanent proof of authenticity that anyone can verify.

TLDR (Short How-To):

  1. Get Base ETH from Coinbase(< $1 per Trueshot) and withdraw to a crypto wallet.
  2. Download Trueshot from App Store
  3. Connect a crypto wallet
  4. Take a Trueshot and mint

What You'll Need..

✅ A smartphone.

✅ The Trueshot app

✅ A crypto wallet app

✅ A small amount of Base ETH (only 0.0004 ETH, less than £1/$1 per Trueshot)

Step 1: Download the Trueshot App 📱

First things first, you'll need to download the Trueshot app from your device's app store:

Step 2: Set Up a Crypto Wallet

If you don't already have a crypto wallet, you'll need to download one. We recommend either:

Zerion
Zerion: A user-friendly wallet perfect for beginners (App Store / Google Play)
MetaMask
MetaMask: A popular wallet with extensive features (App Store / Google Play)

Step 3: Get Some Base ETH 💰

You'll need a small amount of Base ETH to mint your Trueshot. The good news is that each Trueshot costs only 0.0004 ETH (less than £1/$1) to mint!

Here's how to get Base ETH:

  1. Create an account on Coinbase. (Coinbase is one of the main crypto exchanges)
  2. Purchase some ETH (around £/$ 5-10 is plenty to start)
  3. Go to the withdrawal section and select "Base ETH" as the network
  4. Copy your wallet address from Zerion or MetaMask
  5. Paste your wallet address in Coinbase and complete the withdrawal

Step 4: Connect Your Wallet to Trueshot 🔗

Now it's time to connect your wallet to the Trueshot app:

  1. Open the Trueshot app
  2. Tap the wallet connect icon in the top right corner
  3. Select your wallet (Zerion or MetaMask) from the list
  4. Approve the connection request in your wallet app

Step 5: Take Your First Trueshot 📸

You're all set to capture your first verified photo:

  1. In the Trueshot app, tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen
  2. Frame your shot and tap the capture button
  3. Review your photo - this is what will be permanently verified on the blockchain!
  4. Follow the instructions and approve transaction when prompted in wallet.

That's it! Your photo is now being minted as a verified Trueshot NFT on the blockchain. Once the transaction is complete, you'll own a tamper-proof, verified image that proves the authenticity of your photo.
